Amsterdam Dance Event ADE Venue: The Bas[s]ment
The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is a five-day electronic music conference and festival. Wednesday October 19th kicks off with ADE PRO. The annual business gathering for the global electronic music industry. The three-day conference gives music producers insights from World leading artists.
Running from Wednesday through Friday, the conference covers various topics and subjects. From marketing, publishing and bookings to sustainability, social change, and mental health. There is something for everyone to get involved in. ADE LAB being the perfect choice for those wanting to kickstart their electronic music career with four days of workshops and masterclasses. Last year’s ADE featured over 2,500 artists and 600 speakers in almost 200 venues.
The festival attracts visitors from over 146 countries. Exploring every aspect of electronic music and culture. The festival spreads across the colourful city of Amsterdam in venues throughout the city. The most Fnoob-friendly being The Bas[s]ment, Nieuwpoortkade 2a, Amsterdam. Expect an intimate underground club experience in a venue that could be mistaken for a purpose-built techno club. Located in a large industrial building in West Amsterdam. Concrete steps lead down into a dark, subterranean space that has TECHNO written all over it.
The Bas[s]ment is the brainchild of Rob Van Erp. A sound engineer, DJ and producer who founded the venue over lockdown. Created as a space for DJs to perform and express themselves to a digital audience. Rob kitted out the space to stream live performances. Starting out with one camera and a few lights The Bas[s]ment grew into a full studio. Featuring a high-quality sound system, club-style lighting, and video projections.
As lockdown restrictions lifted, Van Erp decided to push the envelope further explaining, “Music is always better ‘shared’ with dancing people… We now bring you the possibility to have a live audience present during your DJ-sets, in boiler-room-style. “.
