Another one of fnoobtechno.com’s Chilean residents, this producer and DJ is the real deal. Torca knows what’s he’s doing and knows his techno:
Torca is Techno. Born in Arica in the north of Chile, however, he made his DJ bones in the capital, Santiago de Chile. He told us “in the beginning I was attracted to French Techno, but about 6 years ago i started to listen more EBM, Hard Techno and Industrial Techno My first time djing was about 10 years ago and as a producer, my first release was 7 years ago.”
A career that spans a decade, he has brought house down in many of city’s best club venues; “Teatro Caupolicán”, “Espacio Broadway”, “Ex – Fabrica” y “Espacio 93” as well as others. He has also managed to play on the same line ups as some of the best artists there are, both local and international talent such as Remco Beekwilder, Mental Resonance, The Ripped, Greyhead, Delmonte, Humnoid, Alejandro Paz, Andrea Paz, Miragliotta, Vallejos, Tessuto, Kami Govorsin, Elias Deepman, Gunjack, Aleight, Der Nautilus, Farceb, as well as many others. Torca said, “i have to say my that my favorites gigs was the underground corner in Santiago city centre in a very bad looking subterranean room, but my highlights gigs have been with international DJS like Remco Beekwilder, Cristian Marras, Tessuto and Mental Resonance.”
Torca tries to taken the crowd on a journey; Torca said, “i think that my way of mixing buddhism with techno is one of a kind!” He provides eclectic delivery of varied rhythms and genres, but always pumping an aggressiveness line with infinite energy. He believes this is what led him to becoming a resident dj in Noctambula since its inception.
He’s also the host his own show “The Excess” in fnoobtechno.com, providing monthly installment of banging techno with many other guests from the Chilean underground scene. Torca’s built his reputation played out in many places including in Perú, Bolivia, México and Argentina as well a lot of cities of Chile such as Arica, La Serena, Santiago, Valparaiso, Concepción, Puerto Montt as well as others. But his hopes and aspirations don’t stop there, “I hope to leave Chile and get to the biggest stages on the world to show my art.”
As a producer, he has had various releases including one under the mexican label, Latin Bass Mexico Records, called “XIII” that says a lot about the roots of the musical thought of the artist. He’s also due to launch his first EP that on Noize Disorder Kollektive. Another release of note was “Despierta” launched on K84 Records.
